CNBC LIVE BLOOPER - Toilet Gets Flushed On the Air !!!!!!
Someone else caught this classic "The Naked Gun" moment from "the air", and I downloaded it from the 'net and reuploaded it to my YouTube account so I could present it here for you all to enjoy.

The Legend Of Forrest Tucker (1997)
Now this is a classic. "Penis" was still a rare word to hear on a Cable TV Talk Show in 1997. And to think some people are obsessed with "Penis".....Mr. Grodin? Not sure how precisely ever aired....Enjoy! DISCLAIMER: This was edited on a CMX Online Edit System, and NOT an AVID Edit System (nonlinear) - those were the days for most modern-day editors....

CNBC TV - CONRAD'S CLASSIC PROMO COLLECTION - The Influencer
This one is one of the more classier Branding Sales Tape which focused on the wealthier viewers of CNBC, and why they should watch it. The stock footage professionally lit and shot helps as well. I tried different visual concepts throughout this one, with different 'acts' to go with the changes in music. Hope you notice the accents on all the key points in the message.

CNBC TV - CONRAD'S CLASSIC PROMO COLLECTION - 2001 Primetime
All the graphics were done in Title Tool, and the shines were done with Highlights, and no external effects (Sapphire etc.), because that machine didn't have them, and so, I feel this looks quite dated, but still has some class.
CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - Cramer in Your Suitcase
Intentionally campy, full of neat sound effects, the real Sputnik sound, and other funky stuff, Cramer in your suitcase is animated using lots of graphical elements scavenged off the internet. Another entry in the series of silly for Mad Money, with lots of keyframing.
CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - PROMO - Cramer's Sound Board
Cramer, love him or hate him... this promo is another fun one in the series of silly. Any chance at using graphics and animating them, and using sound effects with video in Avid is usually an enjoyable undertaking...precision mathematical keyframing is always a challenging task. But maybe not all the time! I get cross-eyed after a few hours of this kind of stuff...
HOLLAND in MINIATURE - MADURODAM - The Hague, Netherlands
So a decade ago I visited Madurodam, a large park near The Hague, The Netherlands, that mostly is the home to the largest scale model of an entire country! So what better opportunity than to create interesting camera moves to give the impression of reality, however surreal when the 'giants' enter the Dutch world of Gulliver. I tried crane moves, extremely low angles, mostly at ground level, and other unusual camera moves one wouldn't normally do in the 'real' normal-sized world.
CNBC TV - CONRAD'S CLASSIC PROMO COLLECTION - CNBC Image :60
The mother of all compilations for a TV network edited and mostly produced by myself in the early 2000's. This promo reeks of urgency, and my music choice for this was by no accident. I also added some musical arrangement by adding musical percussion effects: the chimes, reverse cymbals, and timpani rolls for emphasis. I even took samples of the chimes, and cut them musically on the timeline to create the CNBC musical ID (with which I continued the traditional musical ident). You need to follow the ups and downs of the market? Well, duh! Watch CNBC, eh? Apparently was well-liked by many, and hopefully helped to the spike in ratings for that season. But my ego isn't that huge, but I'm trying.
CNBC TV - CONRAD'S CLASSIC PROMO COLLECTION - Power Lunch EP
This is one my favorites. Timed to a perfect 60 seconds, it is cut incredibly to the musical beat. Notice how all the 'sound bites' happen to be perfectly rhythmic to the music, almost like a musical percussive part. The stopwatch graphics were scavenged from the internet and I animated them in Avid. I'm hungry for a Power Lunch!!!

CLASSIC TV COMMERCIAL - 1960s - COME ALIVE! (PEPSI)
Come Alive! Yeah, you'll be singing it also after watching this one. Another "Jingle Classic", part 2 of an ongoing series I'm creating as an online 'short subject' celebration of catchy now-forgotten jingles once popular. Since Promo editing has not been performed lately, this self-project keeps the keyframing / animating skills up to snuff. The soundtrack is re-recorded and enhanced as well. And I don't even drink Pepsi.
On a side note, the musical signature for this site logo id (www.avidvideoeditor.com) was also composed and produced by yours truly. Being a musician helps in animating / cutting to the beat than those lacking natural rhythm (you know who you are), who would find this type of editing a sloppy chore.

CLASSIC TV COMMERCIAL - 1950s - LIVE BETTER ELECTRICALLY (GE THEATER)
"Live Better Electrically" Retrospective. The first in a series of "Jingle Classics". Watch and Hear a restored classic retro jingle / commercial that captivated the viewers of a 1957 General Electric Theater show, hosted by Ronald Reagan. A total trip back in time with UPA-inspired animated television commercials, and print ads that also depict when women wore high heels to cook dinner in their modern electric turquoise-colored GE range (stove), ending with a quite outrageous period ad (not for those 'times') that'll make you hungry for a Fried Chicken Drumstick cooked on your new General Electric range (stove). u-m-m-m-m!

Images of Ground Zero: Two Months after 9/11
Filmed by me November 4, 2001, depicting the continual cleanup of the World Trade Center disaster area two months after 9/11. Amazing how these once twin towers vaporized into this mass of twisted steel. Of course, if you are an independent thinker, and are scientifically-adept, you know why.

Bebe the Kitten
OK. Nothing special here except a quick video of what was once a cute bottle-fed kitten, and what is now a bitchy adult cat! Meet Bebe. Gotta love a cute kitty.

CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - Bobblehead Vacation.
Now this was a fun one to assist in conceptualizing and ultimately pulling it all off. Ultimatte plug-in was used for the outstanding key, considering the bobblehead was shot against a light blue polo shirt stretched out! Add to the fun that somehow the world's monuments are *ahem* PHALLIC in nature, shall we say... Check out the lighthouse, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben (hmmmmm), the Capitol dome? Huh? But of course the best part is underwater. Thank Google for the snorkel.

CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - Lightning Round 2007
OK. The exceptionally creative Producer I work most with has been watching music videos lately, and shall we say... thinks certain effects are cool. So I've got to absorb the idea, and figure out the ingredients to recreate it to make Mr. Producer happy. I must say this was one of the most interesting approaches taken to create a very cool effect, and I must also admit the end result made Mr. Editor also happy! BTW, this did take a little over a week or two to complete, working on it a couple hours a day...No plug-in used, either.
CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - Lightning Round Countdown 2007
In this intro to a show segment, you can see a travelling lightning bolt embedded in the numbers which, when seen in slo-mo, completely white-out the number for additional effect. Another example of the mirror effect by taking a high layer and flipping it around to an angle that represents true reflection. Put a copy of the final numbers on the very top layer to complete the effect.
CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - University of Texas at Austin Promo
This was an interesting project. Take the existing audio tracks, mixed with music, reassemble the order of the segments, reimport the video in order to color-correct (we eventually opted for the sepia-effect) exceptionally poor video levels (incorrect iris settings on camera), match to the reassembled exisiting audio mix track, make the music work rhythmically, and insert more steer shots, since the original version of this promo had no steer cutaway shots, which I believe make this re-versioned promo work more effectively, not to mention the oh-so-cutesy ending (previously in the middle of the promo).
CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - TEASER - Vive La France
You get only three still pictures of Paris scenes, and a cheesy Cramerica plane graphic. See what a bunch of snap zooms, axis moves, defocus and a title-tool flag warped a bit can create in another video cartoon. Exceptionally hokey Parisian accordion and that edited downbeat at the end add to the Croissant d'Resistance.
CNBC TV - MAD MONEY - TEASER - Rollercoaster Love
Ahh the ups and downs of the stock market. Just a little cool motion blur multi-layer effect and some motion effects. And to think Jim Cramer's face as cupid only lasts 20 frames!
